God Talks to Me

No joke, dude.
With KidMo I am so stressed. There is so much more pressure: to get things done, to say the right things, to create a schedule when some of your teachers are not responding to emails and others feel like they need to step out, which is what creates the scheduling issues in the first place. And often times it just feels like "WHAT IS GOING ON??!?!??!!!!??" Is this craziness ever going to let up? I get discouraged and overwhelmed, because I try to do it on my own.

And this is where God talks to me. I have been reminding myself that I am in this position because I was called to it. God wanted me to be this to do this and it will lead to a better future. But never had I felt like it was God telling it to me. I was reminding myself. I went to a conference type thing. Beth Moore. She does Bible study series and goes on tours delivering different messages. And really thousands of women are there. It's incredible. The first night was "eh" for me. Nothing had hit me yet. And same thing through the first half of Saturday. But after our break, God was speaking straight to me. The last three steps of her "makeover" (I could go into detail about her message, but I don't feel like it.)
Anyway, what got to me was "You are here for a reason and there is a better future, an eternity." And other things about the glory of God and so many other broad, religious topics. But the personal outlook was what I needed to hear. And then Pastor Bill's message on Sunday was right in line with that. "God is always working." Especially in those tough times when the light at the end of the tunnel seems so far away, He is doing something. He has a plan and I need to trust that. I need to believe it, and after this weekend, I do.
This weekend has been very uplifting for me. And even the things we cover in KidMo: Discover who Jesus is, Dig into the truth, God has a Direction and Design for our lives, and another one that I feel embarassed for forgetting! But that Direction and Design has fueled me also. It totally pumped me up for Sunday morning. Dulce (the other teacher and new MC love her to death) and I prayed before we taught cause I was just feeling the Spirit and, I would like our teachers to do that if we can. It can be hard, but it is certainly well worth the effort.

There are so many things that I would like to incorporate into KidMo. Like I said before, prayer with our teachers and hopefully with our kids. More crafts and interactive things. I would sometime like to go off the videos, even though they are wonderful and take some stress out of planning. But I really want to get the kids active. Every time we take communion (last Sunday of the month for us) I really want to do a reenactment of the Last Supper with the kids. They would sooooo dig it. We could reenact so many things: Noah, Moses, the Fiery Furnace, Jesus's baptism and his parables and miracles. So. I hope I can get that together.
We are also going to keep a record of what the kids bring. They earn Bible Bucks which they can then spend in our Bible Bucks Store by bringing their Bible, a friend, a tithe or offering, their Map Book, the Bible Bucks Email, reciting the memory verse. And at the end of each month we can award the kids who brought their Bible every week and who got the most total. Same with at the end of the year (school year). It could be really fun and I hope the kids get into it.

Okay. I've blabbed enough about all that.
If you want me to elaborate on anything in my blog, or previous blogs or an entirely different subject, leave me a comment cause I need inspiration sometimes!

SUMMER!

Lol. So I totally was confused signing into this thing. Whatever.

David reminded me that I haven't blogged yet basically and he's right. So since I'm procrastinating doing important things, I'll do this for a bit.

What am I procrastinating? Preparing for tomorrow's KidMo lesson. Bad, bad me. But I'll likely be up late since I didn't hit the sack til ... 3 or 4 am last night. Which I haven't done that in some time because of school. YAY summer school. Wakin' up at 6:30 SUCKS! Maybe though I'll get used to it and it won't be such a hassle anymore.

*sigh* I need a job and I'm talking to Brittany about Applebee's. I'm going to go in on Monday and apply. Sweet. I hope something works out. Sooooo, if I get a job soon and it pays enough, maybe Jason and I will get married before he leaves, depending on when that is. And if it doesn't happen then it will happen later and that's fine with me. If we're more ready then, financially or otherwise, it will be better.

I also need to work out. Jason's making me jog. :P though I've actually had to cancel on him a few times, but I'll get there. I really need to work on my thighs and abs. raaar. Cause they're fat. But if I lose too much weight then my dress won't fit. :P I don't want to have to alter it too much.

Uhm. Taka told me to blog about geology, one of the classes I'm taking this summer. We are studying igneous rocks right now; Monday is our test on the subject. So I guess I will kinda teach you guys about igneous rocks :D It's good practice at least.
First of all, igneous rocks are characterized by their very solid "consistency." Some minerals (which we studied earlier) can be very soft. They are also homogenous; the crystals of minerals that form its compostition are evenly mixed. Lastly, the mineral particles do not line up. They are scattered randomly, but evenly, throughout the rock.
There are two sub-categories: Intrusive (found beneath the earth's crust) and Extrusive.
Intrusive rocks are granite (very light with some dark crystals), diorite (similar to granite but with more dark crystals), gabbro (even darker than diorite and very few light crystals) and finally pyroxenite (completely dark). You can see all the crystal grains of intrusive rocks. The hot magma solidifies in the ground, insulated by the surrounding earth so heat dissappates slowly. Granite is characteristic of continental terrain, like our Sierra Nevada. Diorite is also characteristic of contential volcanoes and can commonly be found in the old magma chambers of the Cascades. Gabbro and pyroxenite are found in the oceanic rifts, or magma chambers of ocenic hot spots, like Hawaii.
The extrusive rocks are more complicated. However, you can tell if you have an extrusive igneous rock if you cannot see all of the crystal grains. If "granite magma" comes to surface, becoming lava and then hardening, it is either rhyolite, obsidian, or pumice. CRAZY! Rhyolite is light (ah ha) and composed of ash and orthoclase feldspar (a light minerals) particles. You might be able to see the feldspar crystals, but the ash becomes one, big, vague, mass. Obsidian is a very famous igneous rock, characterized by its extremely glassy shine and its use for arrowheads by Indians. It is black but can turn brown/red from the iron oxidizing. It looks really cool. You can't see any crystal grains in obsidian. Pumice is also well-known; it is very light because of its high porosity, caused by gas bubbles that "freeze" when the lava solidifies.

I'm getting tired of this crap. Lol. If you want to know more, let me know and I'll teach you, or just ignore you. Either way.

Uh. I need to plan my birthday party. Lol. Yesterday Johnny had mentioned how nobody plays board games anymore, or something like that. So we're playing board games at my party. HAHA! Suckas! People need to take plenty of pictures because I realize that I need more. More recent ones anyway. Actually the time around my birthday could be very busy. Possible house-sitting, Nelli's wedding, and camping. WOOHOO! And then starting the fall semester! WOOHOO! My last one at ARC! WOOHOO!!!! Okay that's enough woohoos.

I really can't wait to go camping though. It's been a long time since we've camped Lassen-side. Home away from home. There have been a few day trips that I've had to miss out on because of work. One of my goals is to eat one s'more every night. There's always one or two or three nights that we don't but NOT THIS TIME! Ahahahaha. We're going during the Perseid's meteor shower, no coincidence. My mom is forcing me to stay up with her one night. As long as I don't go on a long hike that day or plan on one the next day, I should be fine.

Okay. That's it. I can't use up all my material in one blog. Hopefully I will blog tomorrow.

Good night.

Just some info

So this is where I'm going to let out some feelings. I say some because there are others that need not be shared on the interwebz. I usually write about things that irk me, things that are stressing me out or special moments that make me think about my life, where I've been, where I am and where I'm going. You'll likely see me writing about choir, band, church, my sister, Jenifer, school, choir, band ... haha. Oh. I guess Jason too. Sometimes the fiance does things that make me mad, though it hasn't happened too recently. Yup. That's about it. I'm a music freak. And I've been with my fiance for 6 and half years (October 2002). Okay. That's my info and I need to leave. SOooo. Later.
